Youth for change
Leaders completed implementation of the first phase of the Youth for Change project, which enables young people to conduct activities that serve their community. This was funded by TakingITGlobal (TIG), a Canada-based organization, in cooperation with Alexandria Library.
Youth activists Samer Abu Eisheh and Ra’fat Khaliefeh were each given a grant for their projects. The first project, Youth and Children for Development, took place in Kufr Ni’meh village, a suburb of Ramallah and aimed to encourage the concept of good citizenship and membership of youth organizations. The second project, Graffiti, was implemented in Jerusalem with the goal of using art to fulfill the needs and visions of youth in promoting freedom of expression.
The two projects were chosen in response to the suggestions and proposals of a group of young people through a series of needs assessment meetings held in accordance with Leaders and TIG's plan to make young people active participants of their societies.
