Youth and Elections
The project aimed to increase awareness of electoral law in Palestine, compare it to other electoral systems in the region and examine the role youth can play in elections and the electoral monitoring process, whether within parties or independently, to ensure credibility and transparency.
Seventy male and female university students aged between 18 and 25 years of age participated in the project, which took place from December 2004 to July 2005. They were given a detailed description of Palestinian electoral law and its different stages. A comparison was conducted between the first elections and the most recent ones and the implications on the Middle East. The project also included workshops in Ramallah, Birzeit and Jifna.
