This vision represents the foundation of our work and was formulated through sharing ideas between Leaders’ staff and board members. The statement represents our vision of a community driven not by religious fanaticism, but rather by respect for freedom and democracy as a cornerstone of meaningful economic development.
We are committed to developing grassroots support for an alternative approach to the tide of religious fundamentalism that is expanding in Palestine. Our vision is of a community based on equality and citizenship regardless of race, gender, religious or political opinions, disability, or any other discriminatory factor.
Our vision also reflects our stance on economic inequality: We affirm a clear bias in favor of disadvantaged groups and a genuine desire to defend social justice. Our staff and board alike believe that true development can only be achieved in a society that is equitable and democratic.
