Our Principles
As a leading civil society organization, we are committed to a set of principles and values that guide our work. These principles are the filters through which we view issues surrounding our work, evaluate them, and take action.
Respect for Freedoms: we recognize that the path to development is tightly linked to personal freedom. We also recognize that the human, civil, political, social, economic, religious and cultural rights of every individual must be respected by society and the state. We are committed, as part of civil society, to promote respect for these rights and defend them by all democratically acceptable means.
Social Justice: We believe that every citizen should have access to the same rights and opportunities. We believe that basic human rights such as health, education, work, and social security must be guaranteed for all and must contribute to a decent and dignified life. We also believe that these issues must be at the heart of public discourse. We will instigate debates on these issues and promote the adoption of a socially responsive agenda by social bodies, political parties, and government agencies.
Active Citizenship: We believe that all Palestinians are equal citizens. As citizens, we have duties towards our community and rights that should be safeguarded. We will promote the values associated with responsible and active citizenship among young people as we see the nurturing of such values as a crucial factor in achieving positive social change.
Creativity: we value creativity as a means to reach appropriate solutions to persistent problems we face in our daily lives. We encourage an environment which rewards creativity, both inside our organization and with our target groups.
