Welcome to Leaders

Welcome to Leaders Organization – a prominent youth-led NGO implementing two major programs: Social and Political Leaders and Economic Empowerment.

Young people are our future in working towards a peaceful and democratic society. We aim to harness the energies and talents of Palestinian youth: encourage them to serve their society and express their views; provide resources to improve their skills; build their confidence in assuming leadership roles in their communities; actively foster their entrepreneurial ideas and create business and employment opportunities.

Established in Ramallah in 2002, we pride ourselves on our principles and innovative approach to development in the Palestinian territories. We value new ideas and creativity that motivate young people to engage positively in society and work towards a sustainable Palestinian economy with reduced dependence on external resources.

Social Political Leaders

The Social and political Leaders Program aims to support youth engagement in leading positive social and political change. With this goal in mind, we make a point of supporting youth led initiatives whether designed through the organizations’ periodic needs assessment exercises or proposed by youth groups. In the context of this program, Leaders Organization strives to achieve four key outcomes:

Leadership capacity of young people enhanced.
A community of young people active in the use of media, especially modern media, established.
Young people are engaged in promoting a culture of human rights, democracy, good governance and social justice.
Engagement of young potential leaders in their political and social organizations enhanced.

Economic Empowerment Program

While the economic situation in the Palestinian territories keeps on fluctuating, young people are the most adversely affected by this lack of stability. Young people generally lack the relevant skills to enter the labour market or the entrepreneurial drive to establish personal businesses.

Leaders’ Economic Empowerment Program aims to develop the professional skills of young people in fields of relevance to the local market. This program also focuses on enabling young Palestinians to drive the market forward through empowering innovative youth and developing their entrepreneurial skills.

Leaders envisions the development of a sustainable economic empowerment program that can provide support services to young entrepreneurs, reduce vulnerability to economic and political risks and develop their professional skills.
